Wouldn't you give more respect for those who admit wrongs that may have happened?

I really hate when I see people try to cover up the wrongs done by countries, religions, people throughout history. If it happened it happened, , why try to cover it up or make excuses ?
My countries relationship with the former Soviet Union for example, Some Russians get angry when we talk about wrongs their country did. I don't know why , not blaming them, they have no control of what their forefathers did.

    I understand what you are saying, but that's not the way it happens in America. People think they are entitled to reparations because of the wrongs done here. They never let it go. Hell, wrongs have been committed all over the world since the beginning of time. It's done, time to move on become better beings for it.

    You are talking about wrong that Russia did, and Russians getting angry. Do you feel the same way about the United States and the wrongs they have made and tried to cover up, or rewrite history?

    I used Russia as an example because I live in Ukraine and come across many more Russians than I do Americans, but yes, I would feel same way about wrongs done in any country, USA included, also my own , I have no problem with you pointing out wrongs of the Ukraine.

    Thanks for the honesty. So many are very defensive of their country of origin, and take offense if anyone else criticizes them.

    That doesn't bother me, many European countries are criticizing the Ukraine's human right policy, I have no problem with that, the more people know the more chance things might change.

    It shows to me they are honest and want to correct wrongs or not repeat them. And that they care for others. Their ego isn't bigger then the truth.
