However, it doesn't matter who wins because our fate in the next few years is tied to the fate of the rest of the world, and with Europe in a crisis for an extended period (no matter which way they decide to go) and China in a downturn, who's gonna be buying anyone else's products? Everyone's exports will suffer which means companies will stay the same or shrink, which means layoffs etc. The only good news on the horizon is that other countries will invest their money in the US as opposed to Europe, since we are showing that despite everything, we are a safer bet than they are: indeed it's already happening. The US might actually profit from Europe's malaise. Keep your fingers crossed.

Also, if you look at total gdp for Europe and US, it's around the same (not that huge of a difference) which shows our debt higher. However, Europe is about to increase it's debt a huge amount starting right now. They are going to do massive cash injections into their banks probably next week. Their debt will skyrocket. Just wait.
