My friend was just recently on a Cebu Pacific flight and she told me about this so I had to look it up. I guess hearing about safety procedures to the tune of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry is better than being bored to death, right?

But, at the same time, is it safe? The song would just make me not take the presentation seriously.

What do you all think? Does this new form of performance art -- flight attendant style -- get a thumbs up or down?

    Thats yet to be proven. What is proven is that people rarely actually pay attention to the stewards when they just go through the show n tell motions. I've flown a lot. I've seen poeple paying no attention. SW airlines gets more attention as they often spice up the announcement with the occasional joke. If that works, This dance routine might too.

    I love X Men the animated series.I have all 5 seasons on DVD.
    I still watch them like I was 10,even though it came out wen I was in high school.

    I know safety procedures is serious stuff, but i'd like it this way because its less boring, entertaining and it would distract me for a bit from being on an airplane since i hate flying.

    What a fun job! It makes me want to be a flight attendant just for the sole purpose of dancing! (I love to dance - used to be a professional dancer).

    Just think how tired they must be of doing that same routine over and over and over.

    If they can make it more interesting, they'll enjoy it, people will watch, and everyone benefits from it.

    Yeh, maybe karaoke too . . . if they can carry a tune.

    It would have to get so old, being a flight attendant and having to repeat the safety instruction "maneuvers" over and over - especially when half the people aren't paying attention to you. If the flight attendants danced them, more people would pay attention - and the flight attendants would have more fun. BUT I think they should have to dance to the music in their heads - just for the pure enjoyment of the passengers.

    Why does everything have to be so serious all the time?

    I like it! I was on a flight last year and the flight attendant started out with.... "Welcome to your none-stop flight to Mexico City" There was a short delay as everyone started looking at each other nervously... Then he came back.... "Just kidding everyone. Our flight to Chicago will only be about a hour and a half......" He kept joking the entire flight... Some people didn't like it but I found it entertaining.

    Understandably, they can be rather boring and I think the airlines are trying to liven things up a bit or at least the FAs are taking a bold new approach. Still, the choice of music can be a possible issue depending upon the age of the fliers. NO Gaga or even Katy Perry for me. Besides, they are not that long and the info is there for your safety. I would have to go with a hands down on this topic.

    Very creative way to get the passengers' attention directed to a very important safety briefing - one that most passengers ignore most of the time.

    They do this on the ground during pre-flight procedures, not at 10,000 feet in the air (by the way, most airliners like this one cruise during flight at 30,000 feet or above, not 10K). Get a clue before making negative comments. I think it's a creative way to get the passengers' attention to a an important safety procedure. I guess you just don't like the young, attractive FAs doing the "instruction."

All I said was that I think it would be frightening to dance in the air. I didn't say anything else negative. I could care less who the flight attendants are. They don't impress me. Sorry.
