A FEW TIMES, I WALKED IN MY FRIENDS' or NEIGHBORS' HOUSES but FOUND

NO ONE. I FELT VERY UNEASY and EVEN STUPID, WORRYING WHAT IF

SOMETHING BAD MIGHT HAPPENED BEFORE or AFTER I WAS THERE, and

PEOPLE WOULD BLAME IT ON ME, EVEN THOUGH, I DID NO WRONG.

Where do you live that people leave their doors unlocked?

Nope, I'd call out and if I didn't get an answer and I knew someone should be there, I'd call 911. In all the movies that's how people get killed!

I usually yell out or text them to see if their home if I get no answer I go away most of my friends have very large and vicious dogs so no worries of a burglar there unless the bad guys being eaten in the living room and that I don't need to see anyway.

If it was a very close friend, yes. If I'd been there many times before I might just go in. I'd probably knock on the way in.

Absolutely, if i suspected that something might be wrong. I'd want to be of help if possible and I'd expect and encourage the same of my neighbors. I am the caregiver for my elderly grandmother and there are times that I must be away from home and my neighbors help me keep an eye out for her.

Folks in the country look out for each other still. That's something that is usually lacking in the bigger cities.

My oldest sister lives in West Oahu, and the neighbors look out for each other. (they also have BIG DOGS in their yards) Where I live, it's a bit deserted, even though we have relatives in the front house. Most of us have security alarms in the house.
When I was growing up, we never had problems with people trespassing or breakins. It really IS a whole different world, living in the city today.

Only if I knew this person very well or a family member. If it was someone who always left their door closed or locked, I might call 911 to check it out. For all I know a burglar could be in that house with a gun.

I would never enter someone's home even if the door is unlocked or ajar. If it is a neighbor's, I would knock if no answer, I would call first, if no answer I would call again. If there is still no answer, I'd call the police to investigate.

I was raised never to enter a person's house if they didn't answer my knock. And if the door is ajar, I would call the police, rather than walk in on what could/might be a robbery going on. If it's my sister's mother-in-law's house, I would walk in, because she has major health problems. And I know how to do CPR.

It would depend on the circumstances. If I knew the people I would call out their names and if no answer I would enter thinking they might be ill or for some other reason they didn't answer. Never a stranger's home especially these days.

No, i'd phone the cops to let them know that something is wrong and that there is noone answering. I'd also explain that the door is open ...
