Not as long as I can swing a pick or dig with a shovel or carry garbage or clean toilets. There is no job too dishonorable to do honestly. The dishonor is in believing there is.

A "NO" answer was not available.

With all this country has to provide between private and government organizations, no one should ever have the need to steal.

I can not agree more with ANNE's Comments posted below mine. (Of course, only after all legals options have ended) But...I have HEARD one person claim he can make $5 - $40 an hour standing in a GI type jacket, with a sign near a Wal-mart, saying vet needs money. He supplements his SSI (welfare) this way.

If push came to shove, I would lie, cheat, steal and even kill for the sake of my child. No question, no doubt at all on my part about that.

Why would you have to; the government can do it for you. And there are plenty of other legitimate charities out there. The church is one good example. They have some programs or the ability to make it happen for you.

only to feed them first, the wife and me last. survival is what you have to make it. not a question of right or wrong. i can apologize for it. ask for forgiveness for my disgressions. but will do it again if i cannot work or find food for them. i will not chastise anyone for it either.

yes if my child was hungry and stealing was the only why he could eat then yes I'd steal something for him to eat. And then I'd ask God to forgive me.

to support her to get an i phone ?? NO way !
to feed her if she is starving ?? Yes , of course . One of the biggest joys on earth is to have enough food to feed your kid & watch her/him eating happily . Then i I feel like a mother lion who has just brought some meat to her babies & watching them eating ,lazily with half down aye lids .

(I predict this will get a lot of bitchy people) People steal every day to support their kids and the funny thing is that no one cares except for the people that are getting ripped off. I am referring to Welfare. If you as a parent cant feed them don't breed 'em. I hear parents say daily "I can't find a job" really because McDonald's is always hiring. And then they go to the store and get some food, beer and smokes on my dime. Thanks for stealing from me.

Living in a smaller town (10K) people can NOT find work as they first burnt the employer...and they will not hire them back a second time, for them to burn them again.

Support is a broad term. It would depend. If my child were starving, I'd try asking for help first. Stealing would be my last option. Food, clothing and sometimes meds are necessary to take care of a child. Gosh, this question is depressing because it reminds me how hard life was when my kids were real small. Bless you all who are there now. It does get easier.

sadly I've done it..long time ago, but yes, I did what I had to do to make sure my child had what she needed. It wasn't ever more than a few bucks at a time, and never anything for me, but I did it. Finally decided that working was better than stealing, so thats what I've been doing since.
