I'd prefer to have a treed spot of mountainous land about 30-40 acres with water running through it. I'd build off the grid, can foods I'd grown, lessening my footprint as much as possible.

You can do that in New York (although it'd probably be a balcony rather than a porch).

i'd go for the country side but only if its like a tropical island , the city can be annoying at time. ever been on the F train at 1 a.m. -.-?

It's better than in Philly or DC. The subways there shut down at night and you have to take buses. And I'd rather be on a subway than a bus ANY day.

I said city because I've only lived in a country like setting. Sort of a suburbs meets country. I'd like to have the experience at least once but I'd probably end up living in the country again after awhile because I'm used to it more.

really depends on the city. I would prefer a big city (let's say New York) to the country. As for a small city, I'd have to go with country

I can live in small cities, say 50K citizens or less... But down town NY or LA ?? I'd go completely crazy within a week!!!

I live rural now and just put in an 'apocalypse garden'. I live about 20 mins away from city by SUV but I don't hang out there much. That's where they're going to round people up for zombie bait to preserve the elite 1%. We have solar panels, two wells and all the fruit trees we can keep up with. Long country roads that I ride my bike on everyday...
