I grew up in the country and currently live in the city. I don't want to go back to living in the country, because that would ruin my vacations spots. I go to the country to relax and unwind, but if I lived there for too long I would probably become lazy.
I like to be able to step onto my back porch and have a cigarette without neighbors calling me in for only being 17. My house is surrounded by beat fields so its all open land up i can't use it until after harvest :(
I am a city-girl, born and bred. Never had the desire to live in the country, it suffocates me. Mind you, it's nice for a holiday but that's as far as it goes. I think man should treat mother nature with respect and not deprive it of its resources; certainly not have tourists destroying nature's most beautiful habitats.
I lived in the country, alone, for six months. Absolute pagan bliss! But, I had to move back to the city because I missed my son too much. Ho hum. One day...
Right now I live in a City but I grew up in the country. Even though I live in the City, I am in a part of town where it feels kind of country. I am surrounded by trees and a canyon. Wildlife and birds and pretty close to work. Love it!
You can't go wrong with miles and miles of nothingness! I also find it that the less there is to do around a small town or in the country the more creative you get thus = more fun!
true dat! honey... i live in a small town but way out in the country with like 11acres tht my stepdad and his mom and dad own its soooooooo pretty and more 4-wheeler time!
At least in the city if you get annoyed you can put in earplugs. You have access to all kinds of places to eat and go out. The country might be nice for a little while, but it's too isolated for me. Also, public transportation is better in cities; I'm not fond of driving.
But honestly, I like suburbs the best. It's in the middle--peaceful, quiet, but still close enough to a city if you want something to do.
...which is why I LIVE in the country..(I'd rather escape to the city than escape to the country..)..I lived in the Big Crapple for a while, and I DO know what I'm missing...I like big cities in small doses..
looks better than asphalt!

Hated having to drive 30 minutes to get anywhere for anything.
