but all my animals came from off the streets so they most likely would of ended up there anyway . . . but i would never buy a dog or any aniaml, i would go to the shelter to the animals that really needed the love
On our last cat, when he goes no more. Pets are nice but also a lot of responsibility. We like freedom to come and go especially travel so no more pets.
Each to their own, traveling has never been something I never had much of an interest in. With my new mortgage, if I can afford a vacation then I can afford to put more on my mortgage and pay it faster.
I prefer local road trips, as that makes having my cat easier.
I haven't, but my daughter has adopted two dogs from the abuse shelter. One she has named bruiser, and a fiesty little pit bull, she calls Tyson. These dogs are worse than two spoiled kids Bruiser thinks he's a person, and he literally tries to talk, they ae funny, and they love their new home. Tyson aggrivates Bruiser, and they have something going on all of the time.
No----but my kids have had about 25 dogs follow them home from school 3 of them being pulled on a rope not to mention about 50 cats. I have 4 kids and in the past 50 years they have had everything. Then there was the pony. That's a story in itself LOL LOL. I am the animal shelter.
Every pet I have ever had has either been a stray that came to my house, was a rescue, or was from a shelter....I do not believe in puppy mills, or breeders that sell over the internet, or to pet stores....they should be abolished...I would adopt a shelter in a heart beat, and I have had three special needs cats...all with feline leukemia...what lives they had left when they came to me, was pretty long and very good....I have spent thousands in vet bills, and do not regret it for even a second...every one of them has been special, and holds a special place in my heart....and every one is buried on my property, each with their own little marker...the ferns and flowers grow better and bigger in those areas...
Bless them,,,,and please consider an older shelter pet....they are awesome...I wish I could adopt every one in every shelter....
I have a norwegian forest cat named Cookie, and a little black short hair one named Sammich Charles. Hahaha it's such a weird name, so I usually call him Sam. ^-^
2 dogs from shelters and one rescued from a breeder
The first one was a Yorkie and he lived with us for 12 years. The second was a yorkie rescued from a breeder and a year later a Maltese Shih Tzu mix from another rescue. These have been our beloved companions. They are a bit quirky and we love them so much.
That is princess, my African Grey parrot. I adopted her from the Bailey Foundation.
