I would not deliberately lie for someone. If I respected the person asking and the reason for lying would in some way protect them then I would simply not say anything about it.
Most assuredly I would not tell anyone about something I knew should be kept a secret.

In fact, this has actually come up, and it resulted in some hard feelings between me and someone close to me for a week or two. It's all good now, and I THINK the person understands more about personal integrity, and how important it is to me.
