Yes, I would specifically request to colonize a planet that will not ever recognize religion. Then when we can do everything imaginable because the cross doesn't stand before scientific breakthrough, we can advance technology at an unheard of rate in nearly every field.

Only if I have all of the details regarding the planet's climate,animal life, it's capacity to sustain living beings such as humans,without having to constantly wear a spacesuit,to venture out and about.

It's a matter of living my life on Earth or through colonization. Chances are, the role for those who go will be for the sake of living and procreation. Allowing the generations after me to continue the colonization because it will probably take a very long time. Otherwise, I could try to enjoy life at home and live a somewhat normal life.
