Would you get mad if your girlfriend/boyfriend went to prom with another person as"friend" because you couldn't go with her?

You!

I graduated last year, and me and my girlfriend stayed together even tho we weren't seeing each other at school. So because i wasn't a high school student i couldn't go and my girlfriend was asked by one of her class mates to go with him. I got pissed!

I mean, I'd offer to take her out somewhere instead if I couldn't go, but I'm not gonna hold it against her if she wants to go as friends with someone else. Might be a bit peeved but I'd get over it in the end.

If I couldn't go with them then I wouldn't care if they took someone else. Why ruin an important event for someone you care about?

You need to get over yourself and be very thankful your girlfriend said anything to you.
I hope and pray she has a blast.
    Have a nice day !

I think it's her one & only high school life. She should go. Although I might feel jaleous, I still think she should go. I would let her go, if she's mine.

I'm too old for proms, but it is an important event. I wouldn't deny someone I cared about from having that experience. If he/she were to cheat, I'd have to just let 'em fly and go my own way.

Yes & no, I had friends that dated much older guys, and they did not go to any proms. But I joined the Army right out of HS, and I went to the prom with my gf at the time.

Why should she not be able to have a prom date? Prom is a major event and, for girls especially, something that will be remembered for life! I went with a friend, because my girlfriend was 24... she didn't mind at all!
It sounds like you don't love her... you are displaying insecurity and possessiveness, which are signs of attachment and/or obsession, not love. That attitude (insecure possessiveness) pushes people away.
Let her have the night of her life... it doesn't mean she's going to be interested in her prom date instead of you; if she is, she's really not that into you anyway.

It depends on who the friend is.

I'd probably get a little miffed, but as long as they behaved it wouldn't be breakup worthy.

If I can't go and he goes with another girl instead of going solo or with a group of his friends then yes, I'd be pretty hurt. Hurt enough to buy a killer dress and show up at the after party with a male "friend" and see how he likes them apples.

Not in the slightest. I know plenty of girls who went to prom with other guys because their boyfriends go to a different school. I know a lesbian who didn't go with her girlfriend, but with a guy. Mainly because she couldn't go with a girl. :P

That is her prom, and she wants to go. Since you can not, then you should not be angry at her for going with a friend. Now, if you think he is not just a friend, then you need to check him out.

Cant say for sure that I would be pissed.... More upset at stupid rules......
If it was a friend of hers/ours and I could not go because of the school.....
Then I would be cool with it........ If it was some random guy that asked her and she said sure...... Then I would be upset with her, and hurt.................
