i know following the lead of characters in movies is probably one of the stupidest a person could do, but ive always had this ridiculous idea of fun that everyone disagrees with. i would do it, cause it sounds wild, but id at least check to make sure im not flying into something

I'd like to say no, but that stupid part of my brain is acting up. The smart side says though that I would have to research about the dangers first and collect gear so I wouldn't smash my bones to pieces and/or burn my skin and/or inhale something dangerous. Btw, that sign in the article is funny.

I walked into the exhaust of a small plane once completely by mistake. It nearly took me off my feet. I can't imagine doing it behind an airliner.

Walking across the tarmac one day, I didn't notice a 767 300 yards away was turning onto a taxiway. He spooled up a little and turned. The unexpected blast knocked me down and rolled me down the concrete. Had I noticed the 76, I would have sought shelter or, at least, braced for the jet wash. Sure am glad i was facing away. The grains of sand really stung the back of my neck. Facing that blast would have also put my sight at risk.

I'm a little sensitive to jet exhaust issues. Those superfans generate about 250,000 pounds of thrust each and are not to be taken lightly. That is why planes are spaced so far apart on final. If the air is dangerous to something that big, you are almost playing Russian Roulette with an autoloading pistol.

Oh hell no! When I used to work on the flight line I saw an SP truck pull in behind a running aircraft about the time the pilot spooled up the engines. The blast pushed that truck straight sideways and into the blast fence blowing out all the windows in the process. Thanks but no thanks. That SP was hauled off to the hospital for his stupidity.
