Would you ever own a zoo?

I love visiting zoos and I like to support them because even though I hate seeing animals in captivity...if humans must trap them then at least make them happy. Put things in their cages that they would use in the wild. I would give them massive expanses for cages, and those poor animals would be happy, not trapped.

My friends and family say I live in a zoo already. I have 5 dogs, 19 cats, a turtul, a bunny, a chicken and a rooster and still counting. I take in any animal that need help or needs a place to stay tell they can a family to go to. I love animals so much they really are my life. They make me happy and crazy all at the same time.

I live very well thank you. I love them all. And I take very good care of them. Ever here the saying my house sometimes feels like a zoo. Those know somewhat, I mean. It's organized cauess. And I couldn't live with out it. (It's a MAD House!!!)lol...

If I had the resources to care for them, I would have a zoo. I would do everything in my power to make the animals comfortable, and healthy. I would be sure to have plenty of professional zoolological and wildlife experts on hand to provide optimum care.

I would have a strict policy that visitors to my zoo who teased the animals, tapped on their enclosures, made faces, or threw things at the animals would be photographed, and removed permanently from the premises. if possible, I'd print their photos in the newspaper!

i'd spend hours with the animals, observing them, helping with their care, as often as possible. there is no way I could do it on my own.

maybe, only if it were to protect endangered animals, not jus for ppl's entertainment, and they had enough space and could be happy, and if the environment could be as much as their real one as possible.

I think that's a good point. I would rescue animals who need a place to go, when they are old, or not "zoo" quality breeders, retired animal actors, that sort of thing. Maybe animal rehab, too.

I haven't actually thought about it before but now that you've said it I just think I would :D

Too much work. I get attached too easily. And, though I like to see animals that I never would get to see up close, I feel bad seeing the caged, as opposed to running free in their own natural wild habitat.

I believe it would kill me to be caged. I think this is why I feel sad for them.

Oh yeah! With all the animals, It would be awesome! The only bad part would be cleaning up after them

I would start my own no-kill shelter or sancturary instead of a zoo.

Not too many animals.... animals don't belong in a zoo.

That and I think they'd be better in the wild.

Only if I don't have to cage the animals. If I can make it seem to them as if they're still living in the wild, only safer and with more food....sure i would!

I kind of do with four dogs, 6 birds and fish. But I love everyone of them

I have my hands full now With 2 dogs and 4 cats. I can't afford to feed any thing else. I couldn't stand to keep animals in cages. And I really can't fit anyone else inside the house!
I have a few acres and someone once suggested I get a cow, raise it and butcher it. I couldn't do that I would have it until it died of old age.

Not because of the number of animals, but because of the number of depressed animals.

I have a small zoo right now,if i had the time and money YES i would have a large zoo.

I would love the animals but all that work would kill me. Not to mention I would have a heart attack trying to feed the lions!!

Too much respondsibility but if I could visit and see the animals whenever that'd be fine with me (:

if i didnt have to keep the animals, with me. i love animals, but after a few fecies throne at me i think ill pass.

and animals have to be fed and cleaned up after. Love to visit, but woudn't want all that responsibility.
