Would you date someone from a different religion?

i do it all the time im a atheist and i have dated many religious people

That never comes in the way. I've dated an Atheist and Christian haha The others I'm not sure what theirs are..

I am an atheist I have no religion, i might date someone who is pagan but it is highly unlikely I would date a christian Muslim or jew....

Secular Jews are pretty all right. I mean, technically, my dad is Jewish, but he's also an atheist. He'll never not be Jewish... I mean, that's just in your blood. There's a religious side to Judaism, but there's also just the shared history, and knowing about your family's past.

Considering I don't have a religion, I feel like it would go very poorly if I tried to date someone who actually believed in such nonsense.

Not exactly sure how that would work. I'm Christian, so to date someone who doesn't believe in Jesus...according to my beliefs, that would mean I'm dating someone who is going to a not so nice place...Don't think I could live with that. Or the fact that they wouldn't love who I love the most. If we were to get married, How would we raise the kids?

You'd raise them to think for themselves and make their own choices... like any good parents would.

hmmm nope. Sorry. I was raised (by an excellent mother) in a Christian home and that's how my kids will be raised. Once they move out it's all on them, but I wont stop praying for them.

Okay...? You have the right to have an issue with "religious folks" as you put it. (I'm not too keen on the word religion myself personally) It is my belief that we were sent here to save souls, to evangelize....why on Earth would I not save my child while I can? This generation is so particular about rights( and political correctness), is it not my right to raise my child in a faithful home? Like I said, once they move out and enter this great big diverse world than can believe what they will.


Out of curiosity, had I said I was born in a Hindu, Muslim,Jewish or even a home that practiced Wiccan, Would you have had a problem if I said I would raise my child as I was raised?

And yes, I would have. Like I said, good parents raise their children to think for themselves and make their own choices; they don't try to indoctrinate them. In fact, trying to indoctrinate them goes against THEIR rights.

I would prefer to date an ethnic/cultural Jew of any colour or level of religious/non-religious observance but love is a funny thing.

As long as we could both respect each other for that difference. I mean I get along pretty well with many people of different religions, course I'm not dating them.

Though my religion says it is better to date someone of your own religion, I am of the opinion love does not work that way. It can strike anyone at any time. I do not think it should stop you dating someone if they of another religion unless they are anti your religion of course. Then watch out, it will not work. There is only one religion I would not touch with a bargepole.
