I have at the zoo behind a reinforced mesh screen to withhold 100s of KG of force.
Interesting fact about crocodiles and gaters:
Although crocs have massive jaw closing thrust power able to snap the neck of a bison like a toothpick, the muscles that release and open the jaw are very small in comparison and can be overridden by placing a mere rubber band over their snout.
Though I guess i would never dare get close enough to one with a rubber band to try it first hand.
Especially not a saltwater croc. These things can move very fast in spurts and have no "special" feelings for people or anything else they can sink their teeth into. We're seen as food just as much as whatever meat that guy is feeding this croc. They are dangerous. Leave them in the wild. Hopefully the alligators and crocs can keep the Burmese and Afrian rock python population in the Everglades, and beyond, in check.
Have you ever seen on of those things jump out of the water in person? I have hell will freeze over before I offer a gator anything but a healthy respect for them. I like my limbs where they are thank you.
At least at a safe distance and out of water.
