No, she might decide to leave me after I bought it.

..I wouldn't buy her a bus pass...maybe she should shag her ass out there and get a job and buy her own car...
  • Nezkeys79 2012/07/03 12:53:14
I would buy her a car, but in my name, I will hold the title, just in case......

And only if I had enough money to not care if I never saw it again. Love or no love, I would expect the money back at some point. Chances are, though, that this wil never happen, as I doubt I'll ever have enough money to not care about the amount it takes to buy a car, even a used one.

I don't really see myself buying my partner a car unless we were married, but if it happened I would just be cautious. If we broke up after I purchased the car I'd try to remain civil about it all. If I did keep the car it shouldn't be out of bitterness.

I'm not really big on buying capital assets for people that I'm not sure about, as love can change in a hurry. I've personally seen that, as I never buy stuff like that, send money, co-sign unless I have first got legal advice and have collateral or equal value.

A car is a huge financial responsibilty and if she has it in her name she could walk away. The smart way would be to have it in his name

I wouldn't purchase her a bus pass. Couples (boyfriend / girlfriends) should learn to buy things for themselves. Now, once you get married, that is another topic for another day.
