Many of you know B-Man (Brian) .. he is, and has been, a long standing and loyal friend to most of us for quite some time... so won't you join me on this his special day and wish him a very, very Happy Birthday...

Brian first and foremost, is a family man who has been married to his beautiful wife for the last 34 years... then he loves his motorcycle, whom he affectionately named Dudley .. he loves chocolate chip cookies (hey Brian, some are on the way to ya), his friends... and his SH friends .. Brian is loyal to a fault and one can always count on him to be there for ya if ya need him ... Much respect to Brian also who served in the Air Force for 20 years (retired in 1998) ... and you all know I love my military boys/girls ... we owe a debt of gratitude to him for his years of service for our country .. HooRa!

Well Brian, we need ya right now too my friend and I know you are a good sport .. so get out yer guitar ... show us yer stuff, and be the first to get this party rolling ...♥hugs♥

I hear that all right. No, my teachers never did try to change me at all. Just my sister because she didn't want me to be left handed. She's an odd nut like that.

I'm not sure but I think long ago people were thought to be evil that were left handed. I need to research because we're so darn nice - it doesn't make sense.

Yep, I vaguely remember my studies in school but it seems like to me that waaaaaaayyyyy back in early times left handed folks were considered to be evil. Kind of like the witches of Salem or something. Yeah, back then that was considered mad mojo or something. It wasn't a good thing.

Thank God we've evolved. We might have been burned at the stake had we been born in earlier times. That's about as dumb as condemning an entire race, creed, color or profession because of a couple rotten apples. I think almost everyone is good and treat them accordingly unless they prove me wrong. Did you enjoy your Birthday with family or on the road?? I know this has kept you busy. Mary and RECON and all of us think you're way cool.

Good evening miss Linda! Soooo good to see you again. Yes, it "is" a good thing we've evolved. My wife and I both are left handed so we would have been right along side you getting burned and all. And yes it "is" dumb for sure. I don't know what makes folks think like they do. Very strange. I can tell you this much, if you're ever in a mid east country like Iraq or some place like that then they consider it an insult if you offer them something with your left hand. That can get you into big trouble if you're not careful. To answer your question, yes I really enjoyed my birthday with my family. I've been pretty much been driving locally lately. I've not been over the road in a few months now. Oh yes, the party has kept me busy all right. Awwwww. Many thanks for the kind words miss Linda. I think the world of all of you folks too! I really appreciate Recon and miss Mary for throwing this party for me. It was a big surprise for me.

I surely have no future plans to go to a Muslim country but I'll remember your warning. If I get toasted I want to do it with a drink. haha My ex-husband and I are both left handed and I have a Aunt & Uncle who are lefties and my Granddaughter. I never thought much about being different but I guess we are. I've always felt like an alien here. haha Either that or a fool.
So glad you had a great birthday Brian. Sometimes it's a surprise to see how many people care about you. Always a delight. And glad you can spend your nights in your own bed. That has to feel good. Enjoy your new year my friend. XO

Many thanks miss Linda. Yep, it's nice to sleep in my own bed at night. You can't do that over the road but it's not so bad. I used to get this magazine called Left Hander's Only. It was a neat magazine and it opened from the back to the front in true left handers fashion. It was a great magazine and had all kinds of left handed stuff in it and jokes and all kinds of interesting things. I remember a joke that was in that magazine that stated "right handed people primarily use the left side of their brain while left handed people primarily use the right side of their brain so it just stands to reason that left handed folks are the only ones in their right frame of mind!" Hehehehehehe! I loved that joke and to be honest it really pisses off the right handed folks! In all seriousness though I can tell you that the left side of your brain is more analytical and the right side of your brain is more artistic so you will find a lot of your artists are left handed.

Very interesting. I knew Our brain sides were reversed but never dreamed they had a magazine about us. Don't you feel honored.?? I had a heck of a time bowling until I could afford my own lefty ball and doubled my score. Awfully hard to go against the grain. Lots of people comment when I sign my credit card receipts. haha And I do that a lot. Are you artistic?? I didn't seem to get any talent in that area.

Yeah that's what the magazine stated. I didn't know that about our brains. Never even thought about it till I read the article. I'm gonna have to see if I can get the subscription back up and rolling. They even sell all kinds of tools and utensils that are specifically made for lefties. Yes, for sure I "do" feel honored that there is a publication for us folks. I know what you mean about the bowling and all. I never did bowl with a left handed ball so my best score was like 178. Most of the time my scores were like 145. I don't know how I could do with a properly drilled ball. As far as being artistic??? Well, I used to like to draw when I was a lot younger and actually wasn't too bad. And when I was in S. Korea I went and practiced doing some lapidary work and I really liked that. I got real good at that but when I came back state side I didn't get a chance to practice so I've forgotten a lot of what I learned. Lapidary by the way is stone polishing and faceting. It's a lot of fun and you can really make some nice looking stones too.

Hey Brian - if you had a left handed ball you would be dangerous. I'll bet you could get a 300 game. You have to retrain yourself and start with the other foot. It's best to start out right than to have to change your whole program. I didn't realize they were catering to us now making different items made for us. I'd love to have some lefty scissors. I'm going to check into that mag. My Granddaughter could use some too. Do you have other family members like us??
When you retire you could get back into the stones. You'll be looking for things to do that you haven't had time for with work and raising kids. I've been studying things of interest to me and have learned more in the last 5 years than any other time of my life. Problem is - I can't remember it all. haha Hope you have a wonderful day my friend and everything goes your way. XO

My brother, my wife, and I are all left handed. Everyone else I know are all right handed. But yes that magazine really "is" neat. I don't think I would be comfortable using left hand scissors these days. I'm so used to using right handed ones that it's second nature. Yeah, I think I'd like to get back into doing the stone work. I didn't personally do these stones but I've done some similar to them. I've done some clear as well as smokey quartz and some piridot too. That facet machine looks like the one I used to use though.

Yep, the piridot was a bit of a challenge but the smokey quartz wasn't too bad to facet up. If I would have stayed with it long enough then I might have tried cutting a diamond. I felt like I was getting almost good enough to do one when I left to come back state side.

Many thanks. Yep, I had a real good time with it. The very first stone I turned took me 24 hours of total time from the raw stone to the finished product. By the time I left Korea I could do that same stone in about 9 hours.

You know Brian if I had a talent like yours I don't think I'd wait 'til I retired to persue it. Do it in your spare time now while you can still see good. It's probably good therapy for you. My Uncle was a master wood carver and got such a thrill out of his work and gave beautiful carvings as gifts. He's gone but his carvings live on.

Many thanks sweet lady. I've got me a facet machine at the house but I need to maybe start going back to get some refresher training on the procedures so I can get back to it. It's a lot of fun and I've got some stones that I want to cut.
