Will you give me an educated guess, on why people are bi-sexual ?

I am bi and I know that I would never have chosen to be bi, I have spent so many years hating myself because I didn't understand why I was this way. Would I really choose to be something I never wanted to be so I could hate myself, I don't think so. Sexuality is not a choice it is a part of you that is there before you are born, yes genes have a lot to do with it, but it is also just Love. People do not choose to be made fun of and have people harrass them daily because of who they are. I finally accepted that I'm bi and have been a major advocate for equal rights for years now, even before I realised that I am bi I had been raised to be very liberal and believe everyone deserves love and equality no matter what there gender, sexuality, race, religion, etc. I would never have chosen this for myself. So I believe that people are born this way.

There's something wrong with that person. Bisexual relationships are risky. It is when someone has sexual attractions of both genders. There have been cases in which a married man and woman would get married and the other partner would 'fool' around with someone else of the same sex while the other may not even know of their spouses bisexuality and this could result in the transfer of stds to that other spouse. Here's an example, is anyone into old time westerns? My parents are so I know about it. There's this old western Gunsmoke and one of the stars, a woman named Amanda Blake got it from one of her husbands. Turned out he must have been bisexual because he was having an affair with another man with AIDS, transfered it to his wife and both of them died.

Sometimes certain things don't need to be explained. The answer is simple, Love. But being the apes that we are, we need to complicate everything.

I've discussed this before, but homosexuality, heterosexuality and bisexuality are all variants on the same sexuality gene and are determined before birth, during development by how the gene expresses itself in the developing fetus. The gene of course won't fully activate until puberty hits, but even before you're born your sexual orientation has been determined.

If you could explain to me why people are heterosexual, golfers, avid readers, video game players, movie buffs, or any other activity that people enjoy. Why does this one need an explanation among society as a whole?

Really for me though it's just too hard to deny that I'm attracted to both women and men. I guess perhaps for me I should have picked because I was born this way... I really don't know I just am :D

I don't necessarily think they were just born that way, but I also do NOT think it is a choice, for homo or bi-sexuals. All the gay or bisexual people I know have had things happen to them, either (overly) negative or positive attention from one of the sexes, or had problems with one of their parents or someone they sought love from. I think it has to do with the person's brain chemistry and how they personally react to those things.
I guess It is possible they were born they way, too...

maybe they are just open to trying new things. Hey who are we to judge, if it works for them that's great.

My best friend is bi. Her dad is abusive and an alcoholic, and I think that has something to do with it, but I would never try to change her. :)

Wouldn't it be easier just to ask them instead of asking people who are only making uneducated guesses? Not only would it be easier it would be a heck of alot more accurate also.

I think people are bisexual for the same reason people are hetro and homosexual. They are born that way. I read an article by a scientist who said that something happens in the brain of a fetus that determines their sexuality. He explained it in detail but it was a little complicated for me. According to sex research, there about six or seven different stages from total hetro to total homo. Which means that a lot of people are not totally hetrosexual.

I am a female attracted only to men - but, I think that some people are definitely born gay. I have seen young boys that are feminine from an early age even though neither of his parents are gay. I think it is just a matter of combined genetics..this particular couples genes together produced too many female chromosomes or something - and so they have a gay son...but all of their kids might not be gay...I've see this a lot..I know a couple of families that have more than one gay person in them...but not all of the siblings are gay...not that that is bad or anything - it's just the way it is. The bisexual thing could just be because that person is open minded and attracted to people in general - maybe another kind of attraction just spills over. Maybe bisexuals are really try-sexuals and they are willing to try both and get caught up in one or the other.

Actually I like hearing people who don't agree with me because then we can debate on where each of us stands. Usually I get called names and blocked because they don't like opinions that don't agree with their beliefs. I have yet to block anyone which proves I don't supress anyone's opinions but I will debate where i believe they are wrong. So again I ask you, where have I ever supressed anyone or any thing. If you think not agreeing with how you think is supression you don't have a clue as to what the meaning of that word is and one more thing you are so thin skinned you sound like a little baby who hasn't gotten their own way and is just whinning about it.
