Does the Democratic party really care about the poor person, the price of gas, and if they can find a job that they can afford to get to?

gas prices were $ 4. 15 a gallon under bush before the economic crash of 2008 that forced the price down to $1,85

It's the same old Lib blame transfer; The Republicans COULD do whatever but won't because they hate America, or; We COULD do whatever but the Republicans won't let us because they hate America.
What's got ME pissed is that when oil was $140 a barrel after Katrina gas was close to $4 a gallon. Now oil is $105 a barrel and gas is close to $4 a gallon. WTF?!

Because somehow Bush could control oil prices, Obama doesn't have that power.
    Charles E
Even though Obama knows which green energy companies to invest in, with taxpayer money. And what the Supreme Court really meant in Marbury v Madison. And who is at fault in a shooting without hearing any facts. And what kind of car we really want to buy, if the taxpayer subsidy were only higher.

AND: 2008 candidate Obama stated that he WANTED gas prices above $8 per gallon.
I guess he didn't mean while he was running for reelection with 8% unemployment.

candidate obama would have to be a crackpot to say that he wants gas at $8.00 when hes running for reelection

the solution is to get oil out of the commodities market drag speculators into a congress hearing and declare oil a matter of national security

INFO, Congress has been "dragging speculators" into congressional hearings for years, and every time, the economically ignorant Congresscritters get educated on who and what these speculators actually do... such as option fuel for airlines, FedEx and UPS fleets and mom & pop trucking companies that buy tens of thousands of gallons of petrol products every year. The Congress critters get to learn that speculators provide a vital service along with their NON-vital driving of prices up (and down) the ladder so as to benefit the clients that hire them.

Every time Congress "drags" these guys into their committees they get to go on TV and give the public a good show, then when the cameras are gone, they vote on how to assist the speculators in doing what they do... while pocketing the cash that the lobbyists for these speculators paid them.

So back to KCoat's question: What are you proposing?

Keystone Pipeline construction will directly hire thousands of jobs and indirectly support tens of thousand additional jobs during its build-out. In addition, the entire project is privately funded. As the Canadian oil will be sold to the global market regardless of how it gets there, the benefit from Keystone will be in the long term efficency of bringing the product to market, just as the TAPS pipeline did 40 years ago when Joe Biden was 50% of all the "Vote NO!" senators against building that Alaskan project.

the first thing they ll do is hire 90% foreing labor and all that oil will be sold for export
you dont believe they re gonnas pay $20/$30 an hour plus benefits when they can call india and the middle east and get $8.. an hour . do u? cause thats what i would do.

"Cheap" labor is a relative term. In the land of $1 per day wages, a $5/day job is something worth setting sail for!

Oh yeah, on my last 'Cruise Ship', we docked in Fargo ND and then sailed to Calgary Canada and all of the foreign born stewards and crew were from either Indonesia, the Philippines, Newark or MSNBC News and they all worked for tips! We had a great time sailing over the Rockies!

Gas prices are way out of control, I don't understand how 1 man can control the prices of fuel so I thinks it's irrelevant. With that said there are things the president can do to drive the price down.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news...

Gasoline demand in the U.S. sank 2.9 percent to 8.736 million barrels a day last year as pump prices averaged $3.521 a gallon, the highest in records dating back to 1919.

Total U.S. oil product demand fell 9.5 percent to 18.8 million barrels a day last year from 20.8 million in 2005, department data show.

“The reason we can export so much is demand in the U.S. is weak,” Cohan said. Since 2005, the U.S. has lost nearly 2 million barrels a day of total product consumption, he said.

If you want to stop exporting, try dropping the prices.

the highest gas price recorded was $4,15 under GW Bush .
the only way of dropping the price is taking oil out of the commodities market .
oil demand has nothing to do with pricing if anything the less u sell the competition becomes more agressive
and bloomberg is not reliable they have been caught lying remember they re republicans

"bloomberg is not reliable they have been caught lying remember they re republicans"

You trust our present administration to tell the truth? Oil prices have been climbing since 1999 with a dip in '02.

"Chicago, Ill. actually takes the cake when it comes to the highest average gas prices in the country where consumers pay almost $4.50 a gallon today.

Isn't that the home of the Obamas??? Then we have California too. What do California and Chicago have in common? That would be Socialist governors and mayors.
