Why don't you believe in God?
A much better question would be why do those who claim to believe in God claim to.
    I don't believe in God.
I also don't believe in Zeus, Odin, Allah, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, or the Boogie Man......for the same reason: there is absolutely no proof for their existence .

I don't believe in God - or in the gods of any religion - because there is not, nor has there ever been, nor will there ever be a shred of proof or evidence for his/their existence.

There's no evidence for a divine being, and no need for one to explain anything.

Simple lack of evidence, and presence of contradictory evidence. I don't believe in the Loch Ness monster, despite grainy photographs. I don't believe in extraterrestrial abductions, despite the claims of a good number of people. I don't believe in Santa Claus, even though there are presents under the tree.

If there is a God, it is not the God of the bible, which is rife with inaccuracies and contradictions. A perfect being would have done a much better job on their book. It was clearly created by men - worse - by a committee of men. If there is a God, it is something no man has had the power to imagine.

I believe in God because I have seen too many things happen and too many things not happen that I simply have no other way to explain.

So lack of ordinary explanation means you accept only one possible extraordinary explanation?

No, actually when it comes to matters of faith, I need neither explanation or evidence. That is why they call it faith.

Faith is, according to the dictionary, belief in something without any proof or evidence; those who claim they need neither an explanation nor evidence to believe in God or in the dogma of a religion are delusional and willfully experiencing a form of mental illness.

Not being able to explain something does not serve as proof of anything.....except that you can't explain it.

Why should I believe if nothing good has ever come of my believing. I used to believe as a child but I do not anymore. In my opinion, when other people talk about 'him' I zone out and keep thinking "imaginary people in the sky..."

First of all, which one? Since no god in human history has any real compelling evidence, and many gods of ancient time have never been proven as false, how does on just decide?

Seems like a rash choice to assume your right before looking at all the options.

"..many gods of ancient time have never been proven as false.."
First, one cannot prove a negative.
Second, the burden of proof is on those who claim to believe in some god to provide proof for their belief......and none can.

I'm an agnostic atheïst. I realise that there is no possible way of knowing whether God excists or not. But my gut feeling tells me no. I can think of more reasons not to believe in him then to believe in him. I started doubting my faith when I was about twelve. Then when I was 16 my godson died, he had been ill for a month. A month in which I have prayed and prayed and begged God to give him a chance. Then when he passed away I felt like an idiot to believe that talking to some guy of whom I have never ever noticed his presence around me would keep my godson with me. That was my absolute crisis of faith. So I don't believe in God anymore, but I do not judge people who do, as long as they don't force their faith upon me.

Inge: You can't be both an agnostic and an atheist.
An agnostic is one who doesn't believe that the human mind is capable of knowing if a supernatural being exists.
An atheist is one who does not believe in god, thereby indicating that they do believe that the human mind is capable of knowing if a supernatural being exists.
Not being willing to judge people who believe in things for which there is absolutely no proof or evidence is evidence that you are not willing to stand up for reality against those who deny it.

Yes, she can as can I. http://www.urbandictionary.co... "Not being willing to judge people who believe in things for which there is absolutely no proof or evidence is evidence that you are not willing to stand up for reality against those who deny it." : I allow people to believe in anything they like - AS LONG AS THEY DON"T TRY TO CONTROL MY LIFE ACCORDING TO THOSE BELIEFS. Have you tried to get your local paper to drop their horoscope column? (Good luck with that!) Many people read there daily horoscope and believe "faithfully".

Once upon a time, something happened to have happened that you wanted to happen and you used your imagination to assign the title of "miracle" to this event and to use it to support your false belief (youir faith).

Once upon a time something happened that was completely unexpected and gets dismissed as "coincidence" by atheist turds who are unable to accept something that is more plane then the ugly nose on your heartless face.
I'd tell you what happened but I already know what your answer will be.

Faith is belief is something without any proof or evidence. And a picture of a box is not an explanation but a pathetic attempt to avoid having to provide one.

I dont believe in god because he is supposivly a perfect being, perfect would be not making mistakes in the world. But as we see, he wants you to only believe in him which here be hisfirst mistake, because few (out of the entire population of the world) actually believe in him. Mistake 2: he makes it a sin to do human nature things. and heres the mistake to really throw me off of believing in him: *if* he existed, he made a mistake on me, and all of us transgenders! I should have been a girl, so wheres your god now?

well, I believe that... my brain is very feminine but my body isnt, in fact my body is male. But since my brain says "no matter what your body looks like you ARE a girl." but my heart knows better and its because of this "so-called-god" that Im like this. so no. I wont believe in god for a very long time... if ever.

As for actually needing to be a girl... thats opinion.

I believe in the Gods and Goddess, because I believe that magik exists in the world. Things that we can't seen. I've felt that in my life, I've come to "something happened here, this can't be a consistence"
My favorite of the Gods to follow: Apollo-Greek God of the Sun and Thoth- Egyptian God of magic and wisdom.
My favorite of the Goddess: Cailleach- Celtic dark mother and ruler of winter (my favorite season), Gaia-Greek Earth Mother, and Bast-Egyptian cat Goddess of sex and fertility.

We're not an accident made out of 'atoms' (etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, whatever 'WE'VE' named it), the way everything functions so perfectly is unbearable to imagine. Something superhuman has deffinately created us, and left us here.. They've either lost control over us or they have other universes to worry about. In comparison, I feel so so small...
