Why isn't there the same uproar over Atheists getting married in churches that there seems to be over gay marriages?

EASY answer......atheists dont whine about getting married in churches so they can have FREEDOM from all the RELIGIOUS bull marlarkey!!!! FREDDOM baby, freedom is where it is at!!!

I've started wondering that myself. Why some Christians have a problem with two homosexuals who believe in God getting married but ignore the marriage of two people who don't believe in God is something I'll never understand (because I honestly don't think they understand it either).

Fortunately, I was raised in a Christian household that gives me the ability to both be a Christian and also not give a flying leap about the personal histories of two people who make the decision to get married. So marry away, everyone.

Marriage is also meant to be in the eyes of God, so why aren't you kicking off when Athiests get married?

That actually makes sense, atheists dont even get married to the same reason some believers get married, so why is it that gays who believe in God cant, not that atheists shouldnt be allowed, but it does make a person wonder about how people view homosexuality to be, it suggests that they dont believe in its validity or the possiblity of someone to really be attracted to the same sex I guess. I never thought of it that way.

I'm guessing Atheists don't generally GET married in a church. LOL. Since they think its all silly fairy tales and nonsense. Why would they? I don't think I have heard of Atheists demanding to be married in a church.

Are you legitimately confused by the double standard? Atheism is easy EASY to hide when you're getting married, as long as you're getting married to a member of the opposite sex. Do you think I walk down the road every minute of every day telling people that I don't believe in any imaginary friends at all? Most people with faith have no ability to fathom being of no religion at all. So really all they see is an angry That blank being whatever their religion is.

They save their outrage from the very (much harder) thing to hide. Wanting to marry a dude in someone's church is pretty much as hard to hide as a massive fart during the Sunday service. All an atheist has to do is shut up.

i'd bet the churches might not be happy to know this ... in the church of MY faith tradition, both parties to the impending marriage have to specifically discuss religion with the church representative before the church will allow the couple to marry in the church ...

I'd bet more that the church overlooks the matter entirely when they see the $$$

I don't care where people decide to get married, but I find it amazing that not one single complaint is made about it by the church and yet they throw a bitch fit over homosexual marriage.

But Atheism is as much of an abomination in the eyes of god as homosexuality...

But the Americans are really squeamish about sex. Not so much about violence. Think about the differences in American movies vs European movies. Think about how nudity is treated in Europe compared with America. It is a country settled by Puritans. Atheism might require burning at the stake but somehow it is still less upsetting than people who openly admit to fornicating.
