Why is making mistakes so frowned upon in the USA?

I thought most of us learned through making mistakes. Most very successful businessmen/women have failures before they eventually make it. Why are the American people so demanding of first time-first serve success?

Because the American people do what they do best: WHINE and kick and scream when they don't get their way. We are a nation full of spoiled brats, and then we wonder why other nations laugh at us.
