Not everyone does take everything so seriously. However, the is someone who will take a given thing seriously. Get on a place like Sodahead where 1000's of people see each question and then there will be someone who will respond seriously.
Get in a room of 1000 people and you'll see the same basic thing.
They haven't yet realized that things like politics and religion are out of their hands...
so the things they *can* control seem less important. That's why old folks are able to
sit and enjoy an ice cream in the park with their grandchildren-- they've lost interest in
all the things that don't add up to anything. :O)
