Probably because they don't want the extra sugar. That's the only reason I ever drink diet soda, is because I'm trying to lower my sugar intake. Besides ordering a meal like that now and then is ok. Everything in moderation.
Because even though both options have a lot of calories, the diet coke option has hundreds fewer -- especially if they're ordering large portions and getting refills
double cheeseburger and large fries from BK: 990 calories. Large coke: 380. Going from one large diet to one large regular coke increases caloric consumption by just under 40%. Getting a refill on the coke almost doubles caloric intake vs getting a diet and a diet refill.
The burger and fries don't necessarily have to be from a fast food place. I would think that a restaurant like Red Robin or Applebees would have a better quality burger, although I'm not sure what the calorie and fat comparison would be. Someone just might be really hungry that day too. Doesn't mean they eat that way all the time.
Gave up that crap years ago soon as I realized the dangers of Aspartame and what goes into your Burger! I would sooner eat a fried rat than a burger from MacDonald s or BK.
Because that equals about 150 less calories in that meal. Every calorie counts and if they wish to take those 150 calories to deduct from a 325 burger patty that is their choice. Some people prefer to eat their calories rather than drink them.
Haha! I don't know. Maybe they somehow manage to think that getting a diet coke will makeup for the rest of the fatty fast foods they get when clearly a diet coke won't make any difference. XD

:p
No I shouldn't be getting the cheeseburger, but guess what? If I don't eat something and go into low sugar then I'm really in trouble.
A single hamburger, large fries, and an iced tea is the way to go!
