Perhaps people don't want to be judged by age but by knowledge and such. People tend to stereotype age and such- the elder the wiser. And perhaps elder people hide their age to not scare off younger SH members. Or perhaps they just like to keep that to themselves.

Let me ask this..."does someone's age make a difference to their opinion?" I chose the first birth date on SH because it amuses me. But I will proudly announce that I am 49.

In the age of this new decade, I hope that it is coined, "the TMI," decade. Not all information is needed although it is given anyways.

I don't care how old someone is here on SH, nor do I care that they don't use a real profile picture. As long as it is legal and within the TOS.

Age is a frame of mind and not necessary to state. Same with the visual picture. I prefer an unbiased point of view based on the words that are stated and not an age or visual of what they look like.

I don't like being the age I am. I think of myself as much younger. I'm in my 50s and something that someone said the other day simply made my day. They said they thought I was in my teens or 20s.

Ageism, maybe. I know that hearing I look good 'for my age' makes me feel oldish. Still, no one here could tell me that if I didn't post my age, which I do. There's discrimination against younger and older people. The golden age would seem to be between 21 and 29 but not to me.
