Why do people call emo not an lifestyle.

Some people say no Some say yes. The people who say no may think its just music. The people who say yes knows its not just music is also short for emotional. So what do you think. I think it is.

people think emos arent an excact lifestyle bcoz they dont see the point i say it is...a lifestyle EMO-TION how could no1 notice that emos are full with emo-tion that they can easily put all of it into a ball roll it up but keep it inside them,they let it out thru their way not your,not my way but theres you gotta problem with it keep to yourself dicktard emo full support.:)

Personally, I believe its simply a label people choose to live by. They may find common interests with the hard core screamo music, or whatever music they listen to might possibly be of that style.
In that case then yes it's a way of life they have personally chosen to live.
Everyone is emotional to a point, sometimes people are just more emotional then others, myself I'm a very apathetic individual so im the total opposite.
I kinda think its a way of life, but within stereotypical label.

It's a phase. It is also a type of music, but most of the people who try to fit into the "emo" scene don't even listen to the music. Emo is really just a stereotype/trend. Melodramatic teenagers who desperately want to identify with something.

Think about it- have you ever seen a 30 year old emo?
