Why do certain people feel the need to prove themselves 'logically' right most of the time?

Justification.

Insecurities?!

Especially when its something not so serious...yet they take it logically....

i don't like to belittle people and point things out that i may not believe are correct. I will on the other hand defend myself if slammed by some jacka$$ who wants to prove me wrong. I also (if i realize they are just getting off on it) will just leave them there talking to themselves. there is a difference between accomplishment in life and being a tool. this is an opinion poll yet many think their opinion is fact. one thing to know in life thats done me alot of good to know. opinions are like a$$holes. everybody's got one and everybody thinks everyone else's stinks. what separates us is some choose to be obnoxious about it.

It is fun to prove yourself right. It gives you a sense of accomplishment.

Some may simply be challenging their own beliefs. I've argued a number of points
with vigor and rigor, only to discover that I was 180 degrees wrong. :O)

i think we've all done that some just won't admit to it.
