Why are men afraid to ask the woman they are living with to marry them?

Most couples I've known who live together for a long time, never get married. In the cases I know of, the women want to get married, but the men either don't want to or never ask the women. I've heard all sorts of reasons, way too many to list here. So, if you want to get married ladies, don't move in with him beforehand.

Change can be hard for any person, sometimes it should just stay the way it is. Not every one is the marrying kind.

There is no need for men to make a commitment regarding marriage because they are receiving the benefits of marriage with no strings attached.

I can only guess here,Why would he feel the need to marry a woman he's already sharing every benefit of marriage sans commitment ?I respect that people have very different views on this subject or on love as a whole,but this woman would never even consider the thought.There's no way you're getting the best of what I have to offer without it.

I don't think any man already living with his girlfriend is afraid to ask for marriage. They just don't want to be married. Or they don't want to marry that particular person.
