He has to be negative, what good has he done the last 4 years? Even when he had Obamacare upheld by the Supreme Court what did he say, "I think the country should just move on." Sure he does because he knows the majority of Americans feel like they had this crappy legislation rammed down their throats. As a result all he can really do is attack Romney. There is also no need to play to his base. Obama could come out and say he was the antichrist and they would still vote for him.
