Normally I'd think it would depend on the individual- But right now I feel as thought it would be teenagers. Teens are known to go through stages of depression as they grow and mature- Something that will stay with them as they continue to grow. Their hormones can make them feel lonely or unwanted; that or it could be something deep and personal that we don't know about. Honestly, you can't judge a person 'cause you never truly know what's going on in their head.

I'm not sure- I'm a teenager myself. I guess it's based on... Observation.~ ._.

People over the age of 50

The aging process can take away your dignity and independence. Then if people forget you are alive, forget to call or visit...this leads to some low times. When you are younger you can get out and do more things. You can be more proactive in fighting your depression. ( This statement does not include those people who suffer from extreme depression.)

Coming from someone who suffered depression at a young I believe it varies. I don't believe there's a majority. Everyone goes through different things in life at different ages, and most people wouldn't tell other's they're going through it so who knows?

I have depression, have had it all my life until I was diagnosed at age 26, and I think all of the above battle it equally. The thing that makes it tough is that "normal" people ( usually your family, who probably have the same genetic tendency to get it) tell you to snap out of it, just get over it, it's just a phase, etc. etc. Well, "normal" people, that just don't work. You have to understand that it is a very real disease like diabetes or asthma that can be fatal if left unchecked and uncontrolled.
