		I remember!! And I was magnificant!
		I am self-taught... Do I get a pat on the back?
		I can't remember what I had for breakfast let alone who taught me to do anything.
		I have never learned to ride a bike... wasn't for lack trying... just lacked the coordination and intelligence.

My two older sisters taught me the basics but my dad taught me all the tricks!

Me and my baby bro who was 11 months younger, taught ourselves. We had access to a junk yard and decided to build our own bike.

I taught myself. It took a year or too, but I got the basics. I'm still too afraid to ride crossing the street, next to anything/one, uphill or downhill. So I'm not very good at it.

Both my parents tried and tried with me but to no avail. Then one day we were going through my paces with the bike and a neighborhood boy (he later became a Psychiatrist) walked over and asked if he could try. My Mother (who was pretty worn out by this time) said sure. So, he came over to me, whispered in my ear and off I went. To this day, I don't know what he said , don't remember but it worked, lol!

I get scratch on my both knee. The next day I couldn't walk.... and I have a fever too... that's my first ride... my friend keep on laughing at me for that.. huh... i don't care if we are about to compete right now... sure I'll leave them behind...

My dad. My parents got me a used, 26" blue bike for my seventh birthday and I thought
it was just wonderful. And when my Dad took me out front and grabbed the bike seat
while I pedaled, I did not even realize that he had let got and I was on my own! What a
hoot! I smile just thinking about it.

When I was 6 years old, I taught myself on a 26 inch Elgin men's bicycle with the seat removed. The bar between the seat and handlebars was a double side by side bar, which didn't make it too bad to sit on.

Every day while my older brother was at work i would 'borrow' his bike and whizz around the streets.....until one day he came home early and caught me....but by then i was fast enough to get away from him, haha.

I got on it,fell off it, and kept getting on it-bloody knees and all-until I finally mastered it.

That's been pretty much the story of my life-keep doing something until I master it.

I didn't click the "self-taught" box because I don't expect-nor want-a "clap on the back"

for doing something that has always been second nature to me since childhood...

My father taught me the basics, he has never been very patient, but since childhood when I'm interested in something I can be very determined so I started to learn and I got the super fast pace, and when my brothers were growing teaches them.

I have horrible balance thanks to some of my sensory issues. My folks tried but I never learned. I don't drive either for about the same reason. I don't know where I am on the road and I just am not safe.

My dad never once said 'it is too dangerous' to me that I can remember. lol when my mom died he shipped me and my brother off to his mothers farm/forced labor camp... same thing, really..and omg.. the things I would do and get into. It is a wonder I am alive

I believe I taught myself by riding on the grass a few times, and then on the pavement.
I loved riding a bike, as it made me feel very independent, and I could ride just about anywhere I wanted to go. I loved roller skating on the side walk......those were the days when you used a skate key. What fun days that I would love to have back.

I was terrified! he let go on the top of a hill... thinking I would go a few feet.. well, I went a helling down this big honking hill and crash landed at the bottom

My Daddy taught me...first with training wheels and then without. He always had the most patience of anyone I knew. He also taught me how to drive a car.
How I would love to see him again!!
