Who taught you how to cook?

It is a long story, Sister. Since I was a wee child, I loved to watch everybody cook and I duplicated what I learned with my small pots and pans. Eventually I studied with several professional chefs and got deeply inspired enough that I decided to go back to college to earn another degree in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts. Today, I still love to cook but only for my loved ones. When I am upset or sad, I prepare something complicated to work my trouble through all the minutiae of the preparations. Cooking to me is akin to meditation and usually, I would find the solution to my woes while multi tasking in the hot kitchen.

I started out by trying things in the kitchen

The person who taught me to cook the most was a NE Indian doctor.

My mom taught me some things, and I loved to read cookbooks.

I still don't know how to cook but I'm just 19. I can make anything in a microwave or oven if it's simple enough. I know how to bake cake, cookies, etc. though!

My grandma! My cooking couldn't hold a candle to hers, but it was a good start :)

All of the above plus many others. Grand parents, aunts, uncles, friends....

My Grandfather taught me.

My mom,also my dad.They were both excellent cooks.

But it didn't stick. It's a good thing she has moved in with me, otherwise I would spend a fortune at fast food joints or starve.

She didn't really teach me, I just learned by watching her.

Nah but thats the theory, although I can imagine how much burnt food goes to waste on my theory haha.

The Maid. And I learned early. I did learn some from mom and some from dad but most came from the maid. But I still had to clean my own room and such.

Mostly my mama though I did learn quite a bit from my Granny (and I practiced with some things and learned through trial and error)
