I don't know, I haven't played it. I'm hoping someone has the customer code for Axis and Allies so I can play it again - I have lost the box with that code, but still have the install and game discs.
I have a handful that I love (Vincent, Cid, and Rufus from FFVII and Irvine and Zell from FFVIII among them), but ultimate all-time favorite is and always will be Sephiroth.
Tifa ... :-) The badass martial artist. I gotta hand it to Squeenix for that one - especially at the time, it was rare to see a true female badass. Most females were mages of some sort, or distance fighters. Tifa was up-close and personal, in-your-face fighting. Loved it.
Paine was pretty cool, and the ONLY reason I liked X2
It was the first Final Fantasy I've ever played, to be honest. I couldn't afford games, and that one was given to me. So I though 'why not'? My copy sadly got ruined before I could beat it >:( So it hold a place in my heart forever.
Do you have a PS3? I know they're expensive, so there's a good chance you don't. But you can buy the game on that. They made it harder, though, and I'm not sure, but I think they took out the W-item glitch/trick, too.
Or if you have a PS2, you might be able to find FF7 in its 'greatest hits' format at a reasonable price. The original (which I have!) is worth hundreds if it still plays...

But seriously, I'd love to finish it one day. I was only about 49% through :'<
