Which side of the hand gun issue are you on?

DJL 2011/03/07 07:09:00
Related Topics: color, SodaHead

I have dear friends on both sides of the handgun issue, those who

believe easy access to hand guns is not good for this country and

those who believe government has no business dictating ownership

one way or the other. I have gained valuable understanding from

both arguments. I have made my final decision.

Certain Americans, especially those who are more

likely to become victims of crime, need to own and

become proficient with handguns!

nbsp final decision nbsp nbsp americans victims crime proficient handguns

I can't discuss it further right now. Gotta get back to the firing range.........

It's my turn to pick up the brass behind the shooting stations.

You!

You won’t see this data on the evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of decent, honest citizens
save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the
law-abiding citizens. The next time someone talks in favor of gun control,
    please remind them of this history lesson. With guns, we are ‘citizens’;
    without them, we are ‘subjects’.

To be free, citizens must be allowed (free to) protect themselves, their families, their loved ones, and their neighbors … including those who govern.
If and when enough people are willing to take a stand for truth, liberty,
human dignity, and religious freedom, then those in government will be forced to listen to reason. When the government refuses to listen to the people, it is
the Constitutional DUTY of the people to, by every peaceful means possible, to
institute a new form of government…PERIOD.

You must both SPEAK UP and TAKE A STAND for truth and freedom for all
peoples of the world, otherwise there is a very good chance that you will be
EXTERMINATED, either by a street-thug (criminal), a hungry and desperate human being, and possibly even by your own government.

The choice is yours.... FREEDOM…or oppression, FREEDOM...or slavery, LIFE with
DIGNITY…or a meaningless struggle for existence, never knowing the reason or purpose of your existence.

All the gun owners (except me) harp on criminals or anti-government sentiments protecting gun rights. How many of them would kill their own daughter? Three weeks ago this guy likely would have been in all gun owners ranks as buddy. Not every criminal has a record before he has a gun. No rape attempt, robbery or assault. Just a little girl celebrating her right be 10 years old and woman exercising her right to end a marriage.

Is it really all that easy to get a gun? Either way my household is gonna get a shotgun soon, that way my mom doesn't have to aim very accurately lol

No matter what gun is purchased everyone in the house needs to be able to use it in a safe way. Everyone should take training classes before the fire it.

Saw the barrel down to where the length of the shotgun 18 inches ( from butt to end of barrel, total length of gun ) that way you have more opportunity to hit your target but the range of the weapon isn't totally shot ( no punn intended )

I own a rifle. The U.S. does need much stricter gun control laws. In fact raids should take place in cities where gangs hide out; their weapons confiscated. If the FBI raided The Branch Dividian in Texas for weapons where children were, they should be out there cleaning up U.S. cities and gangs. Very strict background checks should be enforced. I believe they do now but not on a large more efficient scale. Owners of shops selling weapons should be under strict enforceable laws, and inspections. We have the right to bear arms, but with so many radicals, criminals, psychopaths in the U.S. we have to have more regulation. How do we stop suicide bombers? guns won't stop them. We need our U.S. govt. to stop letting illegal criminals into the United States. Stop giving so much care to dangerous prison convicts. Save money, take them into the prison yard, shoot them by firing squad. That might help deter crime. Save millions of dollars by shipping these convicts off to Turkish and South American prisons. These nations would be glad to take them if our govt. payed them. It would save money in the long run.

There are 2 major groups who benefit from gun control. Criminals and a corrupt, dictatorship government. I own a gun, I know how to use it, and will not hesitate to fire it should the need ever arise.

FBI statistics (unaltered) demonstrate that as gun ownership goes up, crime goes down:

Original FBI Crime Reports available here:

Guess the anti's will have to try a new tact since their myth has been exposed.

I own a gun. I live in a really bad neighborhood, that reminds me more than a little of NYC in Escape From New York. In the last week a 15 year old was stabbed to death by other teens (over graffiti), a man was found beaten to death in his apartment (no suspects apprehended) and a little girl was raped on the walk home from school. Things have gotten so bad, I've replaced the locks on my apartment windows, doors and backyard gate out of my own pocket. And at least once a night some noise gets me out of bed to peek through my windows. I occasionally run would be thieves (and perhaps worse) out of my yard with either the threat of police, or showing my gun. Two weeks ago, someone walked across my roof (I could hear them clearly clomping around up there) and managed to steal the condenser from my air conditioner before police responded - three and a half hours after my call for assistance.

The only thing stricter gun controls do is ensure that criminals are the only ones who have guns.

Guns are works of art, finely tuned acts of engineering, time capsules of history and tools.
    People are fragile.
    All guns are always loaded.
Never point a gun at something you don't want destroyed.
Guns do not have brains, there is some debate on whether all people do.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson
