...and softball, even though softball wasn't as competitive as baseball is. Baseball is big overseas, more so than basketball in my opinion, but softball is still just mainly in the US.

Fencing is part of the Olympics, albeit a watered down version. I was disappointed when it came on TV. I had never seen a match before and it was more like a tag game with two kids tethered together holding sticks...It wasn't so much "fencing" as it was who could touch whom first.

Man, that's tough. I wanted to say fencing as well, since it did have quite a run and seems to be a very Olympic type of sport, but in the end Tug-of-War wins it for me. It has a very primal nature to it that harkens back to the days when the Olympics were about feats of strength and endurance and simulating the tests of the gods! How many of the old Mt. Olympus deities would really want to watch competitions in ribbon twirling?

I'm fairly sure that fencing and clay pigeon shooting are still Olympic events!
By the way, from a foreign point of view, what is the difference between softball, baseball, and rounders? I've played all 3, and they appear to be exactly the same!
