No dad and mom to speak of. Lived mostly with relatives. I survived despite them. It's all good!

    I had two wonderful parents.
From my mother I learned how to cook, she also gave me my love of Broadway Show tunes, good movies and reading.
From my father I learned about different civilazations, about World War II,about his
days in the Army, how when his platoon came in to Anzino, they were stationed in a
auditorium and there was a huge picture window and they could see Mt.Vecivius
erupting out in the distance,he said the eruption was so bright that it lit up the whole
room like it was daytime. He also taught me how to cook good Italian food.
And he gave me my love of Grande Opera, his dad was an Italian barber.
    I can also make a paper box,buss a table like a pro.
From both of the I learned how to run a meeting, how to write a business letter
and follow Robert's rules of Order.
And they also taught me right from wrong.

Whatever is good in me came from my mamma. From my daddy, I got the crazy, wild side of me. My mom was quiet and sweet, and a wonderful lady, but she was also strong, and willful and powerful. Never had to curse, because she was smart enough to put you down without cussing you out. Now, my daddy will call you all kinds of stuff and whoop your ass, too! He likes to party and is crazy, but loving and kind, and extremely talented musically. She was calm and he is nuts! So, dang! I have so much of both of them in me, that I am just awesome, if I think about it! Of course, I am also confused as heck!

She ruled the household in a strict, loving way. ( I raise my children the same way ) Dad was laid back & a pushover.

Probably a Daddy's girl, or so my Mom used to tell me, but I got inspiration, discipline, and positive direction from both of my parents on different levels and issues. I miss them terribly! As well as my grandmothers and aunts, all of whom had an influence on me. I will never forget the values all of them instilled and the good times we had. We were a crazy, fun family.

I now know what I don't want to do, how I don't want to treat my child, and things I do want to do with my life.

Oh, my! Not very nice at all. I hope you have learned at least this much, that you won't treat your children that way. Now, I used to get hit, but it was a spanking, and I deserved to get spankings, because I was often in need of one! There is a difference between spanking and being beaten. I hope you are not still going through this.

63 years together, and counting, parenting as a 'United front' passing down their skills. And they are still together as they always were.

My parents separated when I was 2, I don't remember my father very much, just how nice he looked in his uniform. So I learned from my mother how to be a strong woman and to depend on myself to achieve my goals.

My mom passed away when I was 13 and from that day on everything that happened afterwards is because of me missing her and the impact on my further life. I was the oldest child and had to carry us all(my dad and litle sister and myself) throught these dark days and at the same time I try to live by her memory as a very positive and bright woman who had a lot of wits and could cook so great and i try to follow in her footsteps and my father has been a very big inspiration and example that its never too late to change your life or get a better chance by doing exams at the age of 55! so its never ever to late to chase some dreams we have ! And to live by the memory off a loved one that i miss my mom the most is normal because she was not around when i was married or had my baby and a father is not that usefull in those moments but i loved him and miss him also but my mom I wish she could see me now .....
