Okay, this is an unfair poll, how can you possibly have only one favorite? A well-made carrot cake tastes like manna from heaven, but then who can argue with chocolate cake? Or lemon, or a tasty applesauce-spice cake?

My family's favorite variety of chocolate cake is a german-chocolate torte cake. This isn't one of those cakes with sticky coconut frosting on top--we use layers of german-chocolate cake, layers of german-chocolate & pecan fudge-like filling, and layers of whipped cream. I've seen grown men fight over that cake!
