Well, despite the fact that many TV channels (such as those satellite radio channels) are devoted specifically to playing music, I would still choose music if I absolutely had to choose between the two. I don't watch very much television as it is, save for a select few shows, so I should have no problems going without it completely. Plus, television shows and movies are easily available online if I wish to watch them.
I really don't have much use for Music . . . . Music to me is sort of similar to Commercials on TV; I already know what I want when I want it; so, why tell me to have something that I don't need when I don't need it?
At first I was thinking NO TV because you can sing or make music yourself just about anywhere. But then I got to thinking of how little TV I actually watch and how I plan to disconnect at the end of this year because of that. Then I thought about it more and realized EEEEEEK!--I'm not a musician! (Guess I need more coffee.)
If I had to I could quite happily live the rest of my life without TV. "Music"for me ,anyway, is an entirely different thing, something that can lift my mood and take me out of myself....
Having not bothered with TV very much all my life but listened to tons of music - it's an easy choice.
I don't have TV at all now that I'm retired, the computer has been as close to watching TV as I'll ever be.
TV is too one way for me and seems a pointless waste of time (except of course for doctor Who)
Music is a whole different experience and much more personal. I like concerts in audio and refuse to watch if they are in pictures.
When I listen to music I don't want to associate it with people, artists or anyone else.
it's just the sounds I want in my head not the people involved. I'm not the slightest bit interested in artist/musicians.... After 50 years of listening to my absolute favorite music by Pink Floyd - I still can only name one of them - Syd Barrett.
Been getting by without TV. Nothing worth watching for these days anyway. But no music? No way. What would life be without a song? Kinda reminded me of a song.
"That's the beauty of music. They can't get that from you. Haven't you ever felt that way about music?" ~Shawshank <3
Music is my escape.

Over a long period of time though I think music would win.
