Depends of a lot of things I think. Depends on the moment, on the connexion you have, on the money you are ready to pay for it, depends on your computer also.... Sure it is not mine! But I hope you will have quicklly my answer. Otherwise I will tell my cat to run and to bring you my message!
Right. My daughters 5 year old Sony Laptop is like molasses when I bring it here to work on it. While my HP that is 2 years old is great. But my wife's Mini Notebook is slow and it is just 6 months old.
Wife's note book has 1 GB RAM, and a 1.5 MHZ Intel processor. Daughter has 1 GB RAM and a 1 MHZ Intel processor Mine has 3 GB RAM and a 2.00 MHZ Pentium Dual Core processor.
Add RAM and you get an instant speedup. And it's not that expensive or difficult to DIY now a days. Clear out any programs in your system that you do not need. Amazing how many there are that are there and slow your system.
That and it is very important to use a Disk maintenance program such as 360 Amigo on a regular basis. Amazing how screwed up the Registry can get over time. And slow you down. As well go into your Browser, and do a Cleanup at least once a week. These few things and a Disk Cleanup and Defrag on a regular basis will allow you the fastest your computer can go.
I've worked in the Computer field since the 70's, so have learned how to get the most out of a system. I still assist people on Crossloop to maintain their systems.
Iam fed up with the whole shabang. Off work to-day to do my accounts, thought I would unwind for 30minutes on SodaHead and have been unable to communicate for most of the day because SodaHead would'nt let me..... NOT FAIR. Iam going back to reading books and writing letters...!!!

For an ISP, in this country for standard home ones, it tends to be BT or Virgin.
