As the old adage goes, "nothing is certain but death and taxes." And we hate to bring up bad news, but the latter part of that certainty is almost upon us. April 15 is known for nothing more than "tax day." It's the day we're all supposed to get our paperwork together, submit our documents, and only hope for a substantial amount of cash back in return. And it's around the corner.
But hey, there has to be a bright side to doing your taxes, right? Are you looking forward to a big refund? Or maybe you just like knowing that you're performing your patriotic duties as a U.S. citizen. Whatever the case, we'd love to know more about your opinion on taxes. Take our six-question Tax Survey. Hey, it's better than filling out those documents, right?

- Lerro DeHazel 2012/04/19 18:13:40Filing Tax ReturnsI found someone who does it (electronically) for me and he charges me ONLY $40. Believe me, ti's really worth it. For one thing, though; this is only about the 3rd of 4th time in my entire life that I qualified for a Tax Return. I was Audited when I was in Vietnam; and I was Audited when I was a Full-Time-Student . . . I was Audited a total of 3-Times in my entire life; and that meant 3-Times-in-5-Years..reply

They keep telling me..we want 52.00 more..because i kept to much of my own money.reply - Ira CODE 11 2012/04/05 20:21:23
I know it is poor accounting to get back. I could use the money up front, but I have been, historically, a poor saver. So the gov. gets to return my money-no interest of course-(just try and not pay on time and see what interest and penalties they charge)-which is a substantial amt. I then use that to put into retirement accts for the next year. Forced savings by having them withhold 100 per pay period more than I need to. Still, I am over deducted. Foolish but it really helps me retire and pay for vacations without the pinch.reply - Sgt Major B 2012/04/04 18:09:47Paying Taxes+1Paying's the bigger pain. especially after the wife and I claim zero exemptions all year long and then the feds and the state come back and claim we still owe more. These clowns jumped on Marx's idea of a progressive income tax, why the Hell didn't they provide to hire competent accountants at the same time?reply

I don't have a problem with your opinion, but you mentioned the issue of grammar, and if you're going to do that, then you should be sure you are using correct grammar yourself.reply - Always ... Bunk11 2012/04/07 03:23:15
