Southport, N.C. My mother was Queen of the Maternity Ward. Of course, she was the only one there. Small town. The next morning she was in the kitchen drinking coffee with the nurses. I was the 3rd child and her easiest birth.

You are half right. She is an American Saddlebred. Thank you for the compliment and for noticing and hello fellow Michigander, too! What is your horse? Black is my favorite color on a horse and yours is beautiful!

Thank you! I could not tell if Saddlebred or NSH.. pic was so small.. so sorry... but such a pretty gal she is! THAT I could see! :) And so funny... i love all my horses of different colors, but chestnut has always been my favorite. My dream was chestnut w/ flaxen mane and tail. Bred to the Arab stallion Padrons Psyche, 5x, got 5 bays. Gotta wonder about those genetics. :)

My pic is of my sweet kind Inkje, 2 more pics on my profile thing of her,... she was a Friesian. I lost her last Thanksgiving. Had her for 18 years. :(

So sorry for your loss. On another note, there is an American Saddlebred stallion, Catalyst, who is a light chestnust with a flaxen mane and tale. He throws beautiful babies. The stud in our barn, Northern Blues, once in awhile will have a baby like this. They are beautiful. But then again, all horses are beautiful, the most beautiful thing in the world is a horse (my opinion, of course).

Thank you for your kind words and thank you for the tips on the stallions. :) But I stopped breeding years ago, when the market was just crashing... you know the Arab market kind of did themselves in on that part, and I just basically decided I did not want to be one to add any more horses to this already very flooded market. I have one really good mare left, and every year I think about breeding her, and then, well, just decide to pass. Only foals I have had in the last 14 years were 2, from mares I rescued who were pregnant at the time. But, I hope someday to be able to do it again, be able to afford to do it again! But for now, just hanging on. :)

I only bred once and I ended up with two horses for six years. Sometimes it is hard to sell them and one gets attached. Breeding is an expensive endeavor. You are right, the market is flooded. Good to meet another horse lover and one who appreciates them.
