  • ehrhornp Swan Es... 2012/05/04 15:15:31

No but your hint indicated that it must be connected with the body and the pancreas is the only thing connected with one's body.

    .... :-D

Yep, I know it's in the pancreas, but it would be cool to find real islets in the Pacific called Langerhans.

I thought they were in some part of the body. Makes sense because the pancreas regulates sugar and it's the organ that fails in diabetics.

you read the clue!!! yes i meant in the "seas of human's most important liquid " is the blood ...hahahaha ...yes in fact it is the B-cells who produce the insulin in the islets of Langerhans (and there other 4 types of cells in Langerhans islets like A(alpha) cells produces glucagon ,PP cells produces pancreatic polypeptide,D(delta) produces somatostatin ,and Epsilon cells
produces ghrelin . ) all that from this small (but powerful islets ) . imagine !!!

My 18 year old niece is a severe diabetic so I know a little about it. And I always loved Biology in school too. She's on an insulin pump right now and has to check her blood constantly. She's also entering some kind of experimental program where they are trying to grow a new pancreas for insulin patients. Haven't heard much about it or what's involved but I guess she'll be the hospital for a while during the testing, etc.

oh! let GOD help her!! take care of her .diabetic patients suffer from hypoglycemia (which is very dangerous ) .you have to observe its signs like weakness ,diaphoresis (sweating ),blurred vision, tremor, hunger, confusion and irritability . and hyperglycemia (glucose level above 110) .the normal is from 70-110 .and the most dangerous one is diapetic ketoacidosiswhich means : ( hyper glycemia (blood level =300 and above),keto refers to ketone bodies in the urine as a sign of dehydration and these bodies cause disterbances in the blood PH and make it acid (the normal is from 7.53-7.45) so it may decreased below 7.35 .hahaaha i talked too much i forgot my self!!!!!sorry
