Yes

For the first decade or so. I think the first time I had my own room what when I was 12, when I moved into the basement of our house. I set up a cubical wall to separate my sleeping area from the area that I watched TV in. I also got my first TV then, an old black and white set what didn't get local channels, but clearly got Canadian ones.
