When people say that "everyone is special," does that mean no one is special? Why or why not?

we are all special in our own way
you can do something i cannot and i can do something that you can't
but together, we can teach each other and learn
    so yes, everyone is special

Hmmmm. I don't know. I find that too generic and over-simplifying when it was told to me. All I know is we all have our own fingerprints and DNA.

It keeps me at bedside; I can't take a chance with a fourth back injury.

All at work too. I just can't afford another one by going back to my old shift which was second shift.

No, it was the physical part of it. I get people up and moving and I'm short and petite. I have had a 400lb patient fall top of me and I couldn't move and it took more than a hour to get her off and that was while working.

It happened. Nursing is also a very physical job, and back injuries are just too common, unfortunatley.

Everyone's special in some way, but no one's special in every way. So everyone's special in different ways, everyone's life has meaning, and people are more special than everything else...

I like to think so, but I'm not so sure. When I was growing up, I heard this a lot but without any real explanation.

They're saying you're equal to everyone else in a way a child would understand it.

I doubt it. My parents did not like to really discuss things so they gave generic answers to me, and neither did the teachers. Other than DNA and fingerprints, they never did answer that question.
    A conundrum alright.

Everyone is special meaning everyone is special in their own way and in their own uniqueness

Kinda like DNA, but I hate the way it's been over-used when adults don't explain things well to kids. I heard it a lot as a kid...

I suppose, but the broad generalization by that statement I heard a lot when growing up makes me quite the opposite, other than my fingerprints....

I am certain that is not really the case, everybody is unique and different.

At university there were a pair of super identical twins (largely because they were albino) and it was impossible to tell them apart physically. They both took the same course, yet their behaviours were completely different - one got a first, the other a third.
