It's not uncommon to hear Michael as a girl's name. Besides, it's a kick ass name. It's Hebrew, means "resembles God" and the archangel Michael fought a dragon. ;) My middle name is Lee. It's a Norwegian family name to me but I know it's fairly common.
I have no middle name. I suppose your parents gave you a boy middle name so that if you wanted to change your sex, it would be easier for you to change your name - you just swap the places of your names and there you go. =D
All of us have middle names that were family names. Mine is the maiden name of my grandmother which was Bennet. My sister's is my mother's maiden name which was Johnston. My brother's middle names is my great grandmother's maiden name which was Biggers and our daughter's middle name is the last name of her great grandmother's which is Long.
And I don't have a middle name.
Just Evelina :)
Believe it or not, "Jean-Marie" is a boy's name!
