Fantasy runs a close second, especially when it's done like historical drama. The Lord of the Rings is my favorite fantasy cycle. The Chronicles of Narnia is my second favorite. And I'll be a contrarian here: my favorite installment was Prince Caspian, though no one else appreciated it.
