Chocolate-covered peanuts are a close second, but I think the saltiness of pretzels complements chocolate perfectly. Nuts have their own flavor (beyond the salt) that I feel competes, rather than pairs.

Embarrassing double-post! Oh, the gaffes!

Chocolate-covered potato chips are also incredible. When I first saw them, I was disgusted. Then the candy shop gave out free samples, and I was shocked at how good they were. Sprinkled with extra sea salt on top, too!
