Points don't matter. It functioned just as well before the point system was applied. The quality of your questions/responses is much more important.

To me the most effective way to amass points is to not think about them at all. I focus on searching for interesting questions and taking the opportunity to think about the topic and express my opinions in an interesting way. If my expressions are insightful, thoughtfully provocative (without being a troll), well-expressed, or just amusing, they attract more attention, which brings in more points. I'm much more interested in clarifying my own thoughts and experiencing other people's ideas than in amassing points, which to me would seem to be a pointless exercise!

When you pose a question and you take the time to add photos etc. then each questions racks up more points.

well it's both a case of stamina since even the fastest at getting to lvl 20 would be about 6 months and popularity since raves and replies are both a main source of points.

Here is my thoughts on the subject. Now this is just for fun and I have not done any scientific research but I have always had my "answers given" never exceed 10% of my "raves" and my "questions asked" never exceed my raves by 1%.

I have noticed that people that fit below this threshold tend to be better debaters (and believe me there are many far less than myself). So, that's been my experience. Thus, quality is worth more than quantity.

Simple. Check your emails as often as practical, and respond to each and
every rave that you feel both qualified and comfortable enough to respond
to. I don't respond to all raves, but I do respond to a majority of them.

Good question. I didn't care till I got into level 19. Now I care about making level 20 so I won't have to care anymore.

It's a weird kind of Pavlovian thing. Once you hit nineteen you really, REALLY wanna hit 20 so you can quit caring. :-)
