Oh come one now. . . ONE vote??? They rank #16 as most popular dog today in the AKC. They are big wonderful loyal babies!!! Smart and gentle. That is ok cause ALL dogs are great!

Yep - I had an awesome dog, Yellow Lab and Great Pyrenees. Smart - omg! And Big with lots of hair, but not as much as a purebred GP. Love dogs - just about any kind or mix.

Put me on the spot, and the hairy one's got his eye on this, not bad for an obedience school dropout. all dogs in my book, after this one of course .I was sent a pic with a kid ,and a dog from a friend here ,that said"dogs are the only beings that love you more than themselves" ,and it was touching, as it's the truth.

While I love big dogs I currently have a lhasa apso that is the smartest dog I've ever had and I've had plenty that were smart. But I really believe that mixed breed dogs are the best all round dogs. If you can find a mixed labrador/rottweiler I would recommend it, I had one and he was a very good dog, good temperment and pretty easy to train.

Ive had alot of different breeds of dog's in my life. The one that really I can remember as the best is my old Pit Bull. He was fantastic.

Since I was a child, I have had all types of breeds from Cocker Spaniels to Alsatians, all of which I loved, but in the past 12 years, I can truthfully say that the most loving part of my wife and my family now are our Labs.

Princess is (upper left) 12 now, and Nick (lower right) is six.

Nick's brother Gus passed away last year with an incurable intestinal disease, and we miss him dearly.

I'm sorry to hear about Gus. I know how hard that can be. I lost my little Luna on March 8th of this year. I'm still not over it and most likely never will be completely. So glad you have Princess and Nick to help you through. They look like great dogs.
