You'd think so but its not the case. Gun laws are probably the most strict in the world but there are still people that are killed/robbed by firearms and once in a blue moon there is a gun rampage. Criminals and crazies somehow always seem to find a way if they want to do wrong.
Over here one is more likely to be a victim of knife crime than gun crime but still both are not frequent.

Go to the sporting goods and try to get a gun and ammunition or a crossbow or an axe or some kind of weapon to defend myself.
